Super friendly staff and delicious breakfast food. It will keep bringing me back, and I'll always leave with a few of their famous chocolate bars.
MoreQuaint but not very good
Lovely place! Amazing food, great coffee, delightful chocolates. Definitely a favorite!
MoreAll things here are delicious, and homemade. The espresso is freshly ground per order, the tea is served in a tea pot, the chocolate options are exceptional! Their tables are adorned with hand-picked flowers. And the decor for various holidays is always beautiful, and handmade by the owners.
MoreAwesome little coffee and chocolate shop.
Food is amazing. Everything is worth eating. Fair warning, the coffee is terrible.
MoreWonderful place for coffee or hot chocolate. The quiche is also really good! The cheesecake is my husband's favorite:) Love all of the candies and chocolates as well, great for gift baskets!
MoreFriendly, welcoming, unique coffee and chocolate place, offering all sorts of deicide cakes and desserts, breakfast was delicious!
MoreMy favorite coffee place in Mount Horeb. The cobbler is good too.
Great coffee, good pastry.
Nice cozy coffee shop. Smaller menu selection but what they do have is so so good! Best Quiche and soup. Had the Red Pepper Bisque which was amazing! Delicious bakery goods. Be prepared to wait at busy times!
MoreThis is the best chocolate ever. In all the travels we have done this comes closest to Paris, France, where a chef on a barge made her own chocolate and it was heaven. Been looking for the same for 25 years and here it is, in Mt Horeb WI. The Mongolian is the family favorite and I prefer the 85%. There are also honey pops and other delights. And they will mail it!! Lovely and talented people making chocolate have put My Horeb on my map when visiting Milwaukee. Worth the travel!
MoreI admire this place very much. It has a very nice ambiance. The cuisine is wonderful. the service is efficient and the waiters are well trained. The price is honest. I warmly recommend.
MoreA chocolate shop that opens at 7 am on Sunday. We had to stop. Yes, amazing chocolate, but also quiche, Finnish meat pies, delictable bakery good, excellent coffee and hot cocoa
MoreGreat selection of lunch and dessert items plus gifts.
so great a little Community Cafe top of the end of the town and in town to get to shops to candy stores really nice I recommend anybody
MoreAmazing food! Delicious chocolate and other sweets!
My entire family loves Sjolinds. They have great coffee and espresso drinks. Their baked hoods are amazing, and their selection of chocolates continues to expand. My kids especially enjoy the homemade marshmallows!
MoreNice little coffee/chocolate house. The staff in so nice. I love going there.
Love. Love. Love. Yummy mocha. chocolate. biscuits and gravy. Quiche etc etc etc
MoreI've tried chocolates from just about every chocolatier in the Dane county area and Sjolinds is my favorite. Better chocolates than all of the fancy award winning Chocolatiers.
MoreNice espresso and lots of good food and treat options.
Excellent bakery, exotic drinks, authentic European dishes
Great stuff.
Stopped in for a quick breakfast and we were welcomed with a smile and recommended the days specials. The food and coffee were absolutely fantastic! Cute, cute little shop! Definitely worth the stop.
MoreA nice place with good Coffee, excellent baked goods, Swedish meatballs and a friendly staff.
MoreUnique coffee house that has multiple little rooms, nooks and crannies for enjoying a cup of coffee or one of at least 8 different flavors of hot chocolate, along with some choices of pastries, cookies, desserts or lunch items. They also carry gift packaged hot or brewed chocolate to take with you from American milk or dark, to Norwegian (with peppermint) or French with vanilla beans, etc., as well as a variety of specialty chocolate bars and candy treats. I had an almond croissant, which was very good and fresh (though not quite as good as a Panera bear claws for my taste) and the suggested French hot chocolate with optional whipped cream. Fun to try...would like to have gotten a flight sampler of them like you can get at breweries as I love cocoa and there were a lot of great sounding flavors! Great place to catch up with friends or enjoy some free WiFi to study or get some work done.
MoreI cannot get enough of this place. Their coffee drinks are superb, the food is delicious and the sweets are to die for. Everything is handcrafted right in their chocolate shop and all the food made in their kitchen. The staff is local and wonderful. They have a little play are to keep the kids busy and a back area for a quieter ambiance. They even have a back and front patio areas for when the weather is nice! I highly recommend you coming here for breakfast and coffee and to pick up some sweets if you are in be Mt. Horeb area.
MoreVery nice atmosphere, good and unique food items, wonderful teas. An enjoyable lunch spot in a very quaint town.
MoreSuper cute place. Tasty pastries
Quiche is always great and just had the biscuits and gravy, yum! Haven't had anything bad here yet! And of course chocolate is great!
MoreThis is one of my favorite chocolate houses! The hot chocolate here is delicious (there are so many kinds to try!) and the overall atmosphere is great. Their other bakery goodies and chocolates are also amazing. I love spending my Saturday mornings here for my language lessons. Very nice staff. Would recommend stopping by!
MoreGreat place with good house made soups. We expected a little bit more in the bakery section. But can't complain really
MoreCute Scandinavian themed coffee haüs. Get the caramels hot cocoa, baked goods. They have quiches and meatballs among other items. They close early afternoon. There is another location in town with a drive up.
MoreBest place in town, amazing pastries, quiche, and lunch items. The coffee is the BEST here and a variety of other drink options. Great dessert selection and of course chocolate too! :)
MoreThey have the best dark chocolate I have ever tasted.
Amazing food and drinks. I especially recommend the Finnish pies, quiches and hot chocolate.
MoreI loved this place and would go here non-stop. Unfortunately, they got rid of their old menu and many loved items. Favorites of mine were always the soba noodle salad, caesar salad and all of their soups. I wish they would bring back the old menu but unfortunately they have a new one that doesn't offer as many items. I'm not sure why they got rid of the old menu but I preferred it much more before. In reference to the response from Sjolinds - yes, thank you. It is a pandemic. This review is in reference to when I would visit over a year ago and the menu items were limited, at which time, we were not in a pandemic. Does this mean then that you will bring back the old menu from over a year ago? Or the menu pre-pandemic?
MoreA surprisingly large selection of chocolates on display, with lots of house-made treats and food options. I was pleasantly surprised there were hot items like biscuits and gravy and Swedish meatballs. Several kids of hot chocolate to pick from as well as interesting seasonal beverages. Overall, my favorite place in Mount Horeb, though not great for folks that can't eat gluten or dairy.
MoreGood coffee & food, and exceptional dark chocolate made in house.
Not a very large selection of chocolate. They mostly sell their own chocolate bars mainly. I was looking for more of a single piece box of mixed chocolates and I didn't care for the small selection of those. The chocolate bars are not rich and decadent at all. It tastes like buttered cocoa powder. Their orange cinnamon roll was good, but lacked in flavor. The prices on their chocolate and pasty items are almost $5.00 each. I felt everything was over priced for the weak quality of what I bought there. Overall, I was disappointed.
MoreThis place was great! Excellent food and coffee. Incredible selection of pastries. Thumbs up!
MoreGreat ambiance and excellent baked goods!
please put something else other than coco in your 70% haitian candy bar, my tongue still has the bitter taste and it’s been twelve years. but the packaging is adorable tracy i’ll admit.
Morespent a bunch of money there, mostly came for the dark chocolate toffee. I'd gotten it last year and went crazy over it but this year it wasn't quite the same. Good but not OMG good. My son pointed out that we had the salted toffee last year (I'd forgotten about that, and they only had the almond covered this year). So I was a little disappointed. Got a box of the marzipan and for my taste it was a little too much of a good thing, pretty but very sweet.
MoreThis is a quaint little lunch spot. I had the swedish meatballs and my companion the Finnish pie. Both were well priced and tasty. I also had an American Dark hot chocolate, they have at least 8 different types of hot chocolate. It was rich and yummy. The reason they get only 4 stars is the service. About 8 of us came in at noon for lunch and the 3 individuals working we're quickly overwhelmed. Plus the phone rang. The water pitcher was empty and we placed it on the ordering counter. The woman on the phone got exasperated and slammed it into the sink to fill. I was not impressed. I did tip prior to the mini hissy fit, and quickly regretted it. Every customer was patient and understood the staffing limitation. If you're going to be in customer service, you need to chill.
MoreDrinks, food, and bakery items are all fantastic. Highly recommend!
Friendly service, tasty treats, and a cozy atmosphere. This place is more like a coffee shop than a restaurant, but there's a small food menu; the quiches are possibly the best I've ever had. It's usually quiet enough in the back to work on a laptop without too much distraction, but there's also a play/activity area for the kids near the front, and step stools in the bathrooms for hand washing.
MoreA friend of mine recommended Sjolinds, so I planned to stop here and shop a bit then head around the corner to my old standby... That plan changed when I saw the menu!I had the "potato sausage" because it was nothing like I've ever had! I'm used to the traditional Swedish rotmos and gently boiled links. Sjolinds serves patties with potato salad, and it works amazingly well!I had a chance to chat with the chocolate maker, and she offered some great insights which allowed me to buy chocolate and still meet my wife's dietary restrictions.I expected a lot, and Sjolinds wildly exceeded my expectations!
MoreCool unique shop!!
